2. FAVIPIRAVIR :
Japanese drugs manufacturer company FUJIFILM TOYAMA CHEMICAL is used to treat influenza. It is already tested in 43 countries against mild covid-19 cases. In the month of september -2021, the company released phase-III trial results and which showed an improvement in patients after 12 days of administering the drugs. The company has applied for its approval in Japan government medical board .
Fluvoxamine is developed by Kali-Duphar, It is a part of Solvay Pharmaceuticals Belgium based company and now Abbott Laboratories and Introduced as Floxyfral in Switzerland in 1983. It was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration- FDA-1994 and introduced as LUVOX in the USA. Originally used to treat obsessive compulsive disorder. The drug was found to ease symptoms of covid-19 last year. The company earlier released its Products FLUVOXAMINE was found to reduce the risk of hospitalization and death by-32%.
MONOCLONAL ANTIBODIES DRUGS :
4. AZD7442 :
AstraZeneca company had started its Phase-III trials last year to research study the long-term effect of this treatment, which uses covid-19 Antibodies Isolated from WUHAN, CHINA in October-21 and Its after trials showed it was 77% more effective in preventing and well protect symptomatic covid-19 in high risk patient. The company applied for approval in the US-FDA.
5. SOTROVIMAB :
US-Based Vir Biotechnology has worked jointly with the China company WuXi Biologics and GlaxoSmithKline to develop a covid-19 drug with Antibodies Isolated from survivors of SARS. After successful Phase-III trials, It was approved by the US-FDA and the European Medicines Agency in may-21 to treat mild covid-19 and In August, it was granted approval in Australia, But is yet to receive wider authorization.
6. ATHERSYS :
The USA company start Phase-II and III trials of its stem cell treatment to test its effectiveness against acute respiratory distress syndrome in Covid-19 patients.
7. MESOBLAST :
The Australian company developed for stem cell treatment and also targets acute respiratory distress syndrome in covid-19 patients. Now its currently enroll for Phase-III trials in the US-FDA.
8. APILIMOD :
Yele University is a private lvy league research based University in New Haven, USA . It is conducting trials of APILIMOD, which can safely treat autoimmune diseases and follicular lymphoma. It started trials as a covid-19 treatment in the month of July-21 and researchers declared it can prevent the covid-19 virus from entering the cells. The US-FDA has granted the drug fast track status to ramp up development.
9. NOVIRICID :
The Us based company, Its an oral lozenge developed by Nitric Oxide Innovations in the US stimulated nitric oxide production in the body and was found to be more effective against covid-19 patient by improving blood vessel function. In the month of October-21, The company was announced Phase-II and III trials for focusing on mainly African- Americans, A group that has been disproportionately affected by covid-19 patient.
